Follow these easy steps

1. Tape pattern or design onto pumpkin.

2. Spray adhesive glue on pumpkin and pour glitter over it.

3. Tap off extra glitter.

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. The Florida humidity is starting to leave and hopefully a cool breeze will starting coming our way. I’ve been inspired by countless bloggers all dressed in layers and showing off their fall looks, but its a bit of a challenge to dress in fall clothes when a cold front to us is 70 degrees. On todays post I paired a striped lightweight top with bright red pants. I kept the accessories minimal since the print and color are a lot to take it already. It’s bold done in a classic way. You can wear this striped shirt with any color and these pants fit like a glove. Now you have an easy fall outfit that you can try.

I’ve been enjoying the lovely weather in Florida lately. Nice windy days when I can wear my scarves and boots. I paired the most comfortable and flattering trousers from Zara with a fun sparkly top from Bebe. Then to bring the look all together I incorporated a printed scarf and edgy taupe over the knee boots.

“Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” was selected as the 2016 Met Gala theme. Just when you thought you couldn’t get enough of technology, here comes the technologic red carpet. I was curious to see what these incredibly talented designers would create for their high-profile muses. I wasn’t disappointed, well, for the most part. There were glow in the dark dresses, robotic armor, and some seriously sexy cutouts. I was able to transform an old men’s t-shirt into an edgy lace up tank, in a few easy steps.             The items you will need are listed below.

The t-shirt above is what inspired me to create my own version of a budget friendly lace up tank. T-Shirt = Insporation
Fabric Glue Trim (make sure it has holes so you can pull string through)Lace or StringT-Shirt you want to customize. I also had an old piece of cardboard that helps you cut better by placing the cardboard piece inside of the t-shirt (as shown in the picture above).Line the ruler up against t-shirt and outline the neckline you desire. Here is where it is personal preference. You can make a deeper v-neck like I did, or make it shorter. Whatever you would like. I suggest trying the shirt on before hand and marking it with chalk on where you would like it to be. Once you have the outline done, you can start cutting around the collar. DO NOT cut the collar off if you want the choker neckline, like in the pictures above. If you choose to have an open neckline then you can just cut the collar off. Remove the fabric piece from the t-shirt. The t-shirt should start looking like this.Next you want to line the border of the neckline with the trim of your choice.
Make sure the trim goes all the way up to the seam at the top of the t-shirt, like so.
Once you have it flat and where you would like it to be, apply a thin layer of the fabric glue. I waited 2 hours for the glue to dry. It says 24hours on the glue but because I used a very thin layer on the borders it dried quicker. Good job, you’re almost done! Once the glue dries you can start lacing up the neckline. You want to make sure the lace goes all the way down to the end of the t-shirt because you don’t want to create a gap. The spacing of the string is also personal preference. You can make it wider and show more skin or create smaller gaps between each one to show less skin peeking through. When you get to the end push both lace strand towards the inside of the t-shirt. Once you have both inside separate the strands and tie a knot. I did a double knot just to be safe : ) You can never be too careful.
Whala, there you have it! it was only a few easy steps and doesn’t cost over $50 to make. If you choose an old t-shirt and budget friendly trim, it’ll be even cheaper than that. Have fun and be creative. Practice makes perfect so you can try adding different lace, trim, or even added studs to the collar. Most Memorable Moment

Meryl Streep received the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award from Viola Davis. Davis had some beautiful words to say about Meryl, stating,

“Dame Streep, her artistry reminds us of the impact of what it means to be an artist, which is to make us feel less alone. I can only imagine where you go, Meryl, when you disappear into a character. You are muse. You make me proud to be an artist. You make me feel that what I have in me—my body, my face, my age—is enough.”

As if the audience didn’t already feel inspired by Meryl’s work throughout the years, her acceptance speech was much needed at a time like this around the world. She lost her voice and still managed to give probably the best speech anyone has given at the Golden Globes. Here are a few standouts segments of her speech, just so you have an idea of how incredibly powerful this moment was.

“Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if we kick them all out, you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts,” she stated. “An actor’s only job is to enter the lives of people who are different from us, and let you feel what that feels like.”

She then stated, ‘There was one performance this year that stunned me, it sank its hooks in my heart. Not because it was good, there was nothing good about it, but it was effective, and it did its job. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter. It kind of broke my heart, and I still can’t get it out of my head because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence incites violence. When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.”

Then Streep concluded her speech with a quote recalling her friend the late Carrie Fisher. “As my friend, the dear, departed Princess Leia, said to me, ‘Take your broken heart, make it into art.'”

OMG!!! Seriously, Meryl! You can’t do this to us. It was a flawless speech that brought everyone to their feet. Everyone in the room stood up in awe of what they had just witnessed.

Happy Sunday Sun & Stiletto Readers! Valentine’s Day is only 2 days away and I’m usually one of those last-minute throw on a dress and heels and I’m ready to go. This time I made the exception of planning ahead and creating a romantic Valentine’s Day look, just for my readers. I hope everyone had a lovely weekend filled with lots of love and happiness.
